Location 1

1966

1993
Shrubs and low trees have colonised this area over 28 years. It is located near a water point and ground cover levels are still low but somewhat higher than they were in 1966.
Location 2

1966

1993
Little apparent change between 1966 and 1993 even though the area has been heavily colonised by shrubs in the intervening period. These have been removed by fire leaving an excellent spinifex [Triodia spp.] cover.
Location 3

1965

1993
A sea of moving sand in 1965. Well protected by native perennial grass and forb cover and buffel grass [Cenchrus ciliaris] in 1993.
